Mission

Based on its spirit of the foundation, “a university open to the world,” the University of Tsukuba has adopted education, research, and social contribution as its mission, will create knowledge to solve global issues and create a future society in the global society that is endlessly expanding, and develop as a research university with strength recognized throughout the world.

On the other hand, as the University of Tsukuba cannot shut itself up in an ivory tower and will continue more energetic activities inside and outside Japan, we need to manage risks more precisely. The Office manages conflicts of interest related to society’s trust in the University and security export controls demanded for international peace. The Office’s duty is to support even greater activities of the University of Tsukuba and its researchers by managing both fundamentally.
